Geoje Island Mountains to Hike

Great places for a hike, family travel or just the ultimate place to take travel photographs.

“The Human Spirit Needs Places Where Nature Has Not Been Rearranged By The Hand Of Man”

Geoje Island Mountains I once read is where humans live in complete harmony with nature.  All this fresh air is wonderful and here are some great mountains to hike.  Geoje is the second largest island in Korea.  The Geoje Island Mountains are worth a visit and hiking is the best way to see them.

To experience them you must actually step out on a trail, smell the fresh air and experience the different terrain and elevation.  Enjoy the abundant colors of yellows and oranges in fall, the pinks, purples and reds in spring, the bright greens of summer and the grays and silvers of winter.   Korea has four seasons, so pick a mountain that offers the best blooms for that time of year.

Meet up with your fellow hiker, find the many trails available or go off and make your own trails to the peaks.  Take a camera and take pictures along the way especially the directional signs even if they are in Korean.  Just in case you get lost, show to a Korean hiker & they may point you in the right direction. Thank goodness I always found my way back down but still had money for a taxi just in case.  Our time here is short on Geoje so hurry up and start your hiking now.

When you hike the  Geoje Island Mountains and reach the peak and catch your breath, take a picture of yourself standing next to the “Stone Monument”.  Don’t forget to include the elevation that is stamped on the stone.  It’s a nice way to remember what a great accomplishment you have made hiking to that peak.

The picture also lets your friends know, yes you hiked that peak in case they didn’t believe you.  Plus, now you can show them the way or as I have done given directions while they are on the trail.  It goes more like: turn right at this bush or fork in the road.  Had lots of laughs doing that especially if I’m downtown in a market and they are on the trail in need of directions.

Geoje Island Mountains are not limited to just eleven mountains here but these are the best mountains you want to hike..  So grab your hiking buddy and get started now.  Sometimes the trails can be crowded on the weekends so stay to the right but realize you may be the only one who follows those mountain rules.

Overview Geoje Island Mountains

Now you’re wondering if you can hike these mountains.  Some will say if you can hike Guksabong, you can hike these mountains.  Take your time, enjoy the hike and be safe.  Its a workout and for me was hard to do.  I preserved and spent lots of time in the mountains with my friends.  Sometime, I will have to share how I “You Tubed” “how to hike” and practiced my breathing with a song and it worked.

All the peaks mentioned are great hikes. Geoje has so many hiking trails and one is capable of hiking from one peak to another.  Remember look up frequently while hiking to enjoy the surrounding views along the way.  Feel at peace and tranquil while taking each breath.

As the Geoje Hash Hiking Group would say On On!  [There are lots of Hiking Hash Groups around the World.  My hiking hash name is the Tenacious Turtle]
